Academics/Our Parents Speak

Read more of what our parents have to say about the amazing Friedel experience.
“Our school recognizes not only the winner of public speaking contests but the child who notices when someone falls on the playground and rushes to help her up. Our children do projects with residents at the Rose Blumkin Jewish Home and thus learn to be part of a community and to respect our elders. Through daily living, our kids embrace Gemilut Chasadim (acts of loving kindness) and Tikun Olam (repairing the world).”

“Both of our kids absolutely love Friedel! Whether they are learning to read, to sing Jewish prayers, to swim or to paint – they always say it is ‘fun’! We support Friedel because it’s really the best of both worlds – superb academics and Jewish literacy, all in one gorgeous and friendly school.”

“On a recent vacation day from school, I took my son to the JCC pool where I thought we’d race for a bit and then just fool around in the water. There were three middle schoolers there when we arrived, two of whom were in sixth grade at Friedel last year when my son was in kindergarten. My son swam with me for about five minutes, then raced over to join the middle schoolers and they all played together for the next half hour. This unbelievable sense of community is one reason we love Omaha and Friedel Jewish Academy. There’s *no way* that I, as a 1st grader, would have had the confidence to go hang out with 7th and 8th graders, and no way they would have welcomed me to hang out with them even if I had.”
